About Us

Earth Botanicals began in the hedgerows of the South Downs. Years of foraging – learning which plants do what, which ingredients earn their place and which don't – built an instinct for formulation, which became the basis of everything we make. We are a small-batch natural soap and Jesmonite homeware brand, handmade in Brighton. Every product is made by hand, in small batches and with full attention.

Our Products

Our core range is built around the five elements – Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Ether. Each element contains two cold process soap bars and one handcrafted Jesmonite soap dish, creating ten soaps and five dishes in total. Every soap and dish within an element is paired deliberately by scent, by colour, and by material. They are designed to be sold together. Our cold process soaps are superfatted with specialist botanical oils chosen for what they genuinely do to skin. Cold-pressed sea buckthorn. Upcycled tomato seed oil. Moringa. Black cumin. Rosehip. These are not decorative ingredients — they are active, purposeful, and present in meaningful amounts. Each bar is scented exclusively with pure essential oils. No synthetic fragrance. Every bar takes a minimum of six weeks to cure before it leaves our Brighton studio – it is what produces a hard, long-lasting bar with a genuinely mild, skin-nourishing lather. It is also what distinguishes a cold-process soap from the detergent bars that fill most retail shelves.

Our Jesmonite soap dishes are hand-mixed and hand-finished in Brighton. Jesmonite is a low-VOC, water-based composite that is significantly more sustainable than resin alternatives. Each dish is designed with built-in drainage to extend the life of the soap bar it holds. Five colourways – Charcoal Black, Portland Stone, Marble White, Old Terracotta, and Yellow Sandstone – each matched to its elemental collection.

Every product is plastic-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. Packaging is minimal and recyclable. We do not use fillers, synthetic preservatives, or unnecessary additives. Palm-free.

The Founder

Earth Botanicals is made by Cleo Gabriel, a Brighton-based maker with a background in herbal medicine and Reiki practice. The foraging knowledge that shaped the ingredient choices comes from years spent on the South Downs – learning the landscape, understanding the plants, building a genuine relationship with the ingredients that eventually found their way into each bar.built-in drainage to extend the life of the soap bar it holds.
